Creating Together
Each commission begins with a conversation. We’ll talk about your thoughts, the atmosphere you would like to create, and the space the painting will inhabit. We can explore colour palettes, scale, and the feeling you’d like the work to evoke — whether that’s calm, light, energy, natural drama or a sense of quiet connection.
We will often look at past paintings to get an idea of what types of compositions resonate with you and how I could work towards that.
Foundations
From this, I will develop a brief that reflects our discussion. This will often involve loose sketches using proposed colour palettes that then become the foundation for the painting, allowing me to respond intuitively while staying true to the essence of what we’ve explored together. I will work towards our agreed time frame. When the painting is ready for delivery we will arrange a viewing and discuss framing options.
