About Me
Welcome to my world of colour, light, and nature-inspired art.
My paintings are rooted in the natural beauty I encounter during my daily dog walks and my morning runs through the countryside. These fleeting moments of quiet provide me with much inspiration, as I observe the play of light and colour that bring the landscape to life through the changing seasons.
“If I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint.”
Edward Hopper
Finding Joy in the Landscape
As I work, I seek to express the atmosphere and emotions of being immersed in nature, whether it is a walk by a river or running through woods. The experience of sketching and painting has the effect of grounding me and helps me to see and feel clearly the wonder of the world we live in. In this way each piece is an intuitive and heartfelt response to the joy I feel when in the landscape and the calm and solace that it brings. My hope is that each time you return to my work you’ll uncover something new whether it’s an intriguing detail or a feeling that deepens your connection to the subject
A Place to Recharge
The drama evoked by colour and light are central to my work, not just as visual elements but as pathways to lift the spirit and foster a sense of peace. In a busy world, I like to think of my paintings as a quiet place to rest—a chance to pause, reflect, and connect and bring those qualities to your home.
“Thanks once again for what is an absolutely stunning painting – it’s now up in my living room.” PP. London
Getting Here
I began painting seriously in 2001 after moving to Abu Dhabi with my family. The dramatic change in culture and scenery ignited a creative spark, and I knew I had to pick up a brush.
When I returned to the UK, I was fortunate to meet the late Caroline Hulse at the JoeDaisy Studio. She became my mentor, encouraging me to take risks and grow as an artist. It was a transformative period in my development.
In 2016, I was invited to teach at JoeDaisy Studio, and since then, I’ve shared my passion for art by running workshops and demonstrations to Art Societies and Groups across the UK. Today, apart from a few individual students, I am winding down my teaching to focus more on creating new works and commissions.
