Workshop Outlines

Fundamentals of Acrylics

This workshop is ideal for people starting out in this brilliant medium.  You will be learning how to get the best out of acrylics, what brushes and paints to use and techniques for lively mark making. We will all be painting a landscape focusing on colour mixing and tone.  At the end of the day, you will have a finished canvas to take away with you and new techniques to experiment with.

Working Fast and Loose with Acrylics

Using acrylics in a fast fun way.  We will be looking at techniques to get the best out of this vibrant medium, working quickly and expressively. Working from your own photos you will learn how to get the best composition for your painting. If you are relatively new to acrylics it is recommended that you take the ‘Fundamentals of Acrylics’ workshop first to get the most out of this day.

Getting Started with Abstracts

This workshop is ideal for people who are new to abstraction. During the day Heather will be demonstrating ways to get started on your abstraction journey and a process to build and ‘find’ your abstract or semi abstract painting. At the end of the day, you will have a finished canvas to take away with you and new techniques and processes to experiment with.

Playing With Colour

Colour is wonderful but getting it right in a painting can be tricky.  In this fun workshop we will be looking at how to choose the best colours to express mood and atmosphere while still achieving harmony.  These skills are transferable, and you can start to use them straight away and build on.
